Our first Ashland Rotary Run event was a smashing success with almost 200 runners and $13,000 raised for charity. Join us on Saturday October 2nd, 2010 as the Ashland Rotary Foundation hosts the second annual Rotary Run to raise money for scholarships for deserving Ashland High School and Southern Oregon University Students.

SPECIAL GUEST  #37 ......... Chad Cota !!!!!!

NFL great, Ashland High School Graduate, and University of Oregon alumnus Chad Cota is our Grand Marshall.  Chad Cota is a former professional American football strong safety in the NFL. Born and raised in Ashland, Oregon, he attended Ashland High School followed by the University of Oregon. He was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the 1995 NFL Draft and went on to play for the Carolina Panthers, New Orleans Saints, Indianapolis Colts, and the St. Louis Rams over eight seasons. He retired in 2003 and since his return to the valley, Chad has devoted much of his time giving back to the community. He is active on many boards and with the help of friends started the Cota Athletic Foundation.

                

Since its inception, the Ashland Rotary Foundation has raised more than $1 million to help students pursue a college education. The 5 K and 10 K walk/run begins at 8:00 am, winding through the tree lined streets and bike paths of Ashland, beginning and ending at the band shell in beautiful Lithia Park. A pancake breakfast follows the Run.
